Overview

Red Dead Redemption 2 or usually called RDR2, is a western outlaw themed game and is a product from Rockstar Games one of the biggest names in the gaming industry that is mostly known as the maker of GTA instalments. Unlike GTA on the other hand this game is more focused on realism and almost felt like a cowboy simulator. Critically acclaimed for its environment, graphics, and story this is personally one of the games that makes me genuinely impressed

Review

This is my own opinion and in no way represent the actual state of the game, but this review may serve as your point of reference if you'd like to buy this game, lets's start:

Gameplay

The gameplay is quite interesting, you not only get the typical open-world action gameplay like shooting or any action sequence. You can do a whole lot of things this game is full of "minigames" in which the smaller scope of the game itself is a collection of a bunch of minigames, you can hunt, play pokers, do a heist and so much more you couldn't believe it.

This maybe sounds boring to those who like a more streamlined, fast-paced, and action-oriented game. Because the game is "slow" there are no actions all the time, sometimes you just gotta do things you need to do in real life, and this in my opinion is why RDR 2 took my heart, the details you will find is astonishing.

Graphic

For me the graphics of RDR 2 is quite good even when we're talking in 2022 standards, only a few games can beat the graphics of RDR2 and also more importantly the physics of the game is good, not realistic enough, but is simply acceptable.

Sound Design

If you've ever watched The good, The bad, and The Ugly you can expect so in this game, the sound design especially for the OST is well fitting of the theme and even though it was not grandiose like Final Fantasy (which of course will not fit the realistic atmosphere), some of the OST is good. Now the sound design of the overall game is amazing, how animals roar in the wild felt real, how some animal have it's unique sound based on real life, the gust of the wind, the sound of the "midwest", the punch of the revolver it was exceptional.

AI

Now let's talk about the AI used in RDR 2, firstly about the AI that controls the model of the horse, did you know they made an AI cobble up a model that makes up how the horses walk and gallop to make it as real as possible? Very very amazing in how they blend it on the fly to make the horses feel real, and then let's talk about the wildlife AI, the wildlife is alive what I mean is the cycle of life is simulated in the game, how the wolves hunt, eagles snatching their prey etc, the only mediocre AI in this game is the NPC which is only a small improvement from their GTA V counterparts.
